September Show & Tell

Hello & Happy Mid-September Everyone!

I'm sorry for the long absence recently. Quite honestly, the pictures I took of our member's wonderful quilts at our August meeting were so terrible I didn't want to post them! If you really want to look, you're welcome to find them on our Instagram feed (@tulsamqg) Don't say I didn't warn you about the poor quality. This month's aren't the best ever, but we switched it up a little and they're at least a step up. Those darn florescent lights are just not kind to this (very) amateur photographer.

Anyhoo... On to our September Show & Tell!
We've got such a talented group in our Guild and I just can't wait until next week to see what projects are going to be popping up at our annual FALL RETREAT!

NICU Quilts! Our members, and guests!, keep cranking out the NICU donation quilts. Keep up the good work everyone!

Crystal, a guest to our guild, brought us more than a dozen NICU quilts this month!
And Robyn's donation (top right) is just beautiful!

Kari brought two donations this month and Carol Ann turned
in the adorable blue, white & yellow checkered number.
Our members aren't just talented quilters! Lora was sent a
collection of fabrics and was asked to create a bag using them.
Our guild joined up with the NW Arkansas guild and did a mug rug swap this summer. We received our gifts from NW Arkansas and got to open them up at the September meeting. What a treat! They're all so great! Thank you NW Arkansas for joining in the fun with us!

These colors! Such a cool, modern quilt that Glenda made.

Great job Joye

Julie's finished "Medusa" quilt. Such a cool pattern by Malka Dubrawsky

April brought two quilts to show but unfortunately I didn't get a decent picture of her second one.
This Christmas quilt looks great to snuggle up under, though!

Very nice, Holly!

Maggie makes all these as donation quilts for a dog rescue. Such cool techniques, too!

Maggie repurposed vintage sheets for this bright & cheery quilt.
This month's program, in addition to getting to open our mug rug swap gifts and some general announcements, included three demonstration stations of techniques members have been wanting to learn - English Paper Piecing, Flange Binding, and Appliqué. Thanks to Kelli, April & Carol Ann for stepping up and demonstrating these techniques to us! April even put together a handout with 10 easy steps for her flange binding technique.

Happy (almost) Fall everyone and we'll see you back here next month for more Show & Tell pictures and a retreat re-cap!
