Kick off the New Year with the Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild and Southwood Nursery for one of Oklahoma's largest FREE and NON-JUDGED quilt shows!
This Quilt & Fiber Arts show will feature traditional and modern quilts and other fiber arts pieces. Hung inside Southwood Nursery in one of the greenhouses, the natural light helps create a beautiful display that you do not want to miss!
The Tulsa MQG Southwood Quit & Fiber Arts Show is currently accepting registrations for quilters and artists to show their work. It is free to enter your quilt into the show! The only judging to take place is a Viewers Choice Award that will be gifted to the owner of the quilt with the most votes. To register your quilt, CLICK HERE.

Featured Artist - Ann Olson
The 2019 Featured Artist is Ann Olson of Ann's Quilt N' Stuff. As a child Ann began her journey into quilting in the late 70's when she would visit her grandparents in Coweta, Oklahoma and her grandmother taught her sewing, piecing and other handcrafts. As a teen and young adult, Ann would sew with her mother making clothes and horse dolls to sell at craft shows. On January 28, 1996 she married Pete Olson and made her wedding dress and Pete's tuxedo. In 2001 Ann joined her first quilt guild in Forsyth, Montana. One of the ladies in the guild had a Gammill long arm quilting machine. Ann tried it out and took to it naturally, beginning by free motion quilting charity quilts that the guild had made. She also was able to use a HQ 16 that her friend owned. The quilting group at church had a short arm Juki machine on a Grace frame and Ann had access to that machine as well. The ladies of that church made 50 quilts a year for missionaries and Ann quilted most of them. Eventually she got her own short arm machine on a frame and started quilting for a few people. She had to hold the small sewing machine with one hand from the back and guid it, while in the other hand she held the foot pedal with a potholder because it would get hot.
In 2006 Ann bought her first Nolting long arm quilting machine and boy, did that make a difference! Pete and Ann moved to Oklahoma in 2007 to be closer to her parents and she continued to quilt for several people in the area and for online orders.
Ann's Quilt N' Stuff really took off in 2011 when she started working at Sew Flakes in Broken Arrow. The shop promoted her quilting abilities and had her begin quilting some quilts for the store. Over the process of time she added another long arm quilting machine and is now one of the busiest long arm quilters in the Tulsa area. She long arm quilts full time, quilting between 400 to 500 quilts per year for clients.
Ann has also taught many different types of quilting classes at quilt shops in the area and she currently teaches at Sew Much More Fabrics in Broken Arrow. Together Ann and Pete work from home - she quilts and Pete cleans and repairs sewing machines. Quite a few of Ann's quilts that she has free motion quilted for herself, and for others, have received multiple awards and ribbons in Oklahoma and across the country.
