We had a fun Easter egg "hunt"...well, by "hunt" we mean pick an egg out of the basket on your way in to the meeting. So basically you got to hunt in the basket for your favorite colored egg. There were 3 winning eggs....filled with candy AND local quilt shop gift certificates!! Some lucky quilters are going on shopping sprees at Owl & Drum and Sew Much More Fabrics.
We had 11 visitors at our March meeting and two new members joined our guild in March bringing our membership total to 74. Look at us grow!
New logo options were presented to the membership for a vote in March and our new logo was presented tonight. Tulsa MQG member Becky Gore did a great job designing the winning logo. Check it out at the top of the page.
Tulsa MQG member Shawna Gehres gave a presentation on Alternate Grid Work. Shawna attended a class at QuiltCon with Heather Grant and shared some of the knowledge she gained. Members of Tulsa MQG can access the PowerPoint from Shawna's presentation on the guild Facebook group page.

We are learning more each month about different aspects of modern quilting. Our Block of the Month for April is "Circle of Friends" and follows the alternate grid work theme. These blocks are due at our May meeting. The BOM's are then used to create beautiful donation quilts for our 2017 charity, Youth Services of Tulsa. Members can access the pattern/tutorial on the guild Facebook group page.
Join us in May when our theme will be Bold Color in Prints!
